2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small files stored on a user’s device when they visit a website.

They may be used to ensure the technical operation of the website, remember certain preferences, retain information during the accommodation search and booking process, improve the browsing experience and collect statistical information about how the website is used.

3. First-party and third-party cookies

This website uses first-party cookies and may also use third-party cookies.

First-party cookies are sent from the LoveTenerife domain or from the technical infrastructure used to provide its services.

Third-party cookies are managed by external providers offering technological, analytical, functional, payment or advertising services.

The website platform and booking engine are provided by Avantio.

4. Categories of cookies used

4.1. Necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the correct operation of the website and the booking process.

They may be used to:

  • maintain the security and stability of the website;

  • save the user’s cookie consent preferences;

  • manage the browsing session;

  • search for available accommodation;

  • check prices and availability;

  • select arrival and departure dates;

  • select the number of guests;

  • retain information during the booking process;

  • manage favourite properties;

  • remember the selected language or currency;

  • enable the submission of forms;

  • prevent fraudulent activity;

  • complete a booking request or reservation.

These cookies cannot be disabled through the consent panel where they are strictly necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user.

4.2. Functional or personalisation cookies

These cookies enable additional features and remember preferences that are not essential for the basic operation of the website.

They may be used to remember the selected language, currency or search filters, or to display weather information and other external content.

Where these cookies are not strictly necessary, they will only be installed after the user has given their consent.

4.3. Statistical and analytical cookies

These cookies make it possible to measure and analyse how the website is used, identify the pages and accommodation listings visited, and evaluate the performance of the search and booking process.

Where Google Analytics 4 is used, the following cookies may be installed:

CookieProviderPurposeApproximate duration
_ga Google Analytics Distinguishes users and produces statistics regarding the use of the website 2 years
_ga_ Google Analytics Maintains session status and measures interaction with the website 2 years

The exact name of the second cookie will depend on the measurement ID configured on the website.

Analytical cookies will remain disabled until the user gives their consent.

4.4. Advertising cookies

These cookies may be used to measure advertising campaigns, attribute bookings or enquiries to a particular campaign, and display advertisements based on the user’s interests.

They will only be used where LoveTenerife has activated the relevant advertising services and the user has given their consent.

The presence of links or icons for social media platforms does not necessarily mean that those platforms install cookies. The list of providers must include only services that are actually active on the website.

5. Cookie inventory

The updated cookie inventory must be displayed in the cookie settings panel and should include the following information for each cookie:

  • name;

  • provider or domain;

  • purpose;

  • category;

  • whether it is a first-party or third-party cookie;

  • duration;

  • a link to the provider’s policy, where applicable.

As the platform, booking engine and external services may update the cookies they use, the technical inventory displayed in the cookie settings panel will take precedence over any static list included in this policy.

6. Consent management

When first accessing the website, the user will be able to:

  • accept all cookies;

  • reject all non-essential cookies;

  • configure cookies by category.

Non-essential cookies will remain disabled until the user gives their consent.

Continuing to browse, scrolling through the website or accessing another page will not be regarded as acceptance of cookies.

The user may withdraw or change their consent at any time by using the permanent “Cookie settings” link available in the footer of every page.

Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

7. External services

Depending on the active configuration, the website may use services provided by:

  • Avantio, for the website platform and booking engine;

  • Google Analytics, for statistical analysis;

  • weather information providers;

  • map or embedded-content providers;

  • payment gateways and payment service providers;

  • advertising or conversion-measurement platforms.

The presence of a payment provider’s logo does not necessarily mean that the provider installs cookies before the user reaches the relevant stage of the booking process.

The cookie settings panel must identify only those providers that are actually loaded in the user’s browser.

8. Browser settings

Users may block or delete cookies through their browser settings.

Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent the search function, favourites, availability checks or booking process from working correctly.

Instructions for managing cookies can be found in the support pages of the main browsers:

  • Google Chrome;

  • Mozilla Firefox;

  • Microsoft Edge;

  • Safari;

  • Opera.

9. International data transfers

Some providers may process information outside the European Economic Area.

Where international data transfers take place, they must be carried out on the basis of an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses or another safeguard recognised under the applicable data-protection legislation.

Further information can be found in the Privacy Policy and in the privacy policies of the relevant providers.

10. Updates to this policy

LoveTenerife may update this Cookie Policy where there are changes to the services used, the platform configuration, the cookies installed or the applicable legislation.

Users are advised to review this policy and the cookie settings panel periodically.

  • applicable legislation;

  • this Legal Notice;

In the event of a conflict between this Legal Notice and the specific conditions of a booking, the specific conditions will prevail in relation to that booking.

4. Access to the website

Certain services may require:

  • completion of forms;

  • provision of personal data;

  • acceptance of specific conditions;

  • identification of the User.

The User must have the technical means necessary to access the website and is responsible for keeping their browser, device and security systems up to date.

7. Prices, availability and bookings

Prices and availability may vary depending on the dates, length of stay, number of guests, demand, promotions, optional services, taxes and other applicable conditions.

The fact that accommodation appears as available does not guarantee that it can be booked until the booking process has been completed correctly and the User has received confirmation.

A booking will only be considered confirmed when:

  1. the User has completed the required steps;

  2. the required payment or guarantee has been provided;

  3. LoveTenerife or the authorised booking system has issued the corresponding confirmation.

Obvious typographical, technical or calculation errors will not entitle the User to book at a manifestly incorrect price.

Where an error is identified after a booking request has been made, LoveTenerife will inform the User and, as appropriate, offer them the option to:

  • retain the booking under the correct conditions;

  • select an available alternative;
